The NetFlow Analyzer collects traffic statistics from Titanium Mirror internetworking appliances and other compatible network equipment, then processes the data in various ways for presentation in graphical and tabular form.

The NetFlow Analyzer provides internetwork traffic data in a format suitable for addressing the following network challenges:

• Capacity planning
• Analyze QoS policy change effectiveness
• High level traffic analysis
• Identify and track heaviest network applications and users

The NetFlow Analyzer is comprised of the following components:

• The collector, which reads NetFlow packets transmitted by Titanium Mirror or other NetFlow compatible networking devices.

• A configuration, which defines the manner in which the system will aggregate and store traffic information over time.  This is a simple XML file that can be changed on the fly.

• The aggregator, which processing incoming flows according to the current configuration.

• An historical database, which stores one or more years of aggregated flow information generated by the aggregator.  The older the history, the more aggregated the data.  History databases are of fixed size.

• A flow archive, contining the most recent flows.  The archive size is configurable and, once full, removes the oldest entries to make room for the newest.

• A web-based reporting tool to view aggregated netflow data in graphical and tabular form.

NetFlow Analyzer is available in several forms:

• Pre-installed on a mini-tower server scaled to support collection of flow data from five or more TM or compatible internetworking devices.  Storage capacity is adequate for holding two years worth of historical data for most installations.

• Pre-installed on high performance rack-mount server designed to support up to twenty or more netflow compatible internetworking devices.  Storage capacity is adequate for holding two years worth of historical data for most installations.

• Pre-installed on a customized server scaled to meet the needs of the client.
